Celebrating Divine Mother

Swami Vishwananda's Talk on Brahmacharine (see video below Part 2): "Today we are celebrating the second day of Navaratri which is the second form of Ma in the form of Brahmachariine. Durga in the second appearance is in the form of Brahmacharine. Here Brahma or Brahmacharini means meditation. That is the Goddess as a meditator or a practitioner of penance… Brahmacharini’s mother requested that she give up her resolution (meditation). Her mother exclaimed U and Ma… Uma means don’t waste. So the mother of Brahmacharine said to her, 'Please don’t waste your time. Why are you wasting your time? You want to gain Shiva; you are wasting your time. Don’t do that, just be normal.' You know that very well, when you go on the spiritual path, people say to you: Why are you wasting your time? All of this is just rubbish things, stories.” -Sri Swami Vishwananda (see video below)

Babaji quote of the day

When the rain pours and the wind howls like a banshee in the night, one may feel that the forces of nature are against him. So it is that the Lord of Light comes to you in the storm of your sadhana practice and thereby stirs your soul to awaken. Atma Kriya awakens the soul, the atma, like a banshee in the dark of night. – Babaji -- (banshee – phantom, spirit, supernatural being) http://atmakriya.org/mahavatar-babaji
